Visa Information

Type of visa:

1. Tourist Visa: This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to enter Thailand for tourism purposes.

2. Transit Visa: This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to enter Thailand for the following purposes:

     2.1 to travel in transit through Thailand in order to proceed to the country of the destination or to re-enter his/her own country.

     2.2 to participate in sports activities (sportsmen, sportswomen, etc.).

3. Visa on Arrival: According to the Interior Ministerial Announcements, passport holders from 27 countries and territories (check here) may apply for visas at the immigration checkpoints for the purpose of tourism. Click here for more details.

4. Non-Immigrant Visa:

    4.1 Non-Immigrant “B”: This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to enter Thailand to conduct business/ to work.

    4.2 Non-Immigrant "IB": This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to enter Thailand to work on investment projects which are under the auspices of the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI).

    4.3 Non-Immigrant “ED”: This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to Thailand to study/ to come on a work study tour or observation tour/ to participate in a project or seminar/ to attend a conference or training course/ to study as a Buddhist monk.

    4.4 NON-Immigrant "F": This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to Thailand to attend official meeting or official business in Thailand.

    4.5 Non-Immigrant “O”: This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to visit Thailand for other activities such as, to stay with family/ to perform duties for the state enterprise or social welfare organization/ to stay after retirement (for the elderly)/ to receive medical treatment/ to be a sport coach as required by the Royal Thai Government/ to be a contestant or witness for the judicial process.

    4.6 Non-Immigrant “O-A”: This type of visa is issued to an applicant who wishes to long-term - stay in Thailand (not more than 1 year each) only for applicant aged 50 years or over.
